The soon to come 2018 reboot of Tomb Raider 2018 Film will bring the one and only Lara Croft back to the big screen, with Ex Machina’s Alicia Vikander starring in.
The legendary adventure lover Lara Croft has been most recently spotted through the critically-extoled Tomb Raider game and Rise of the Tomb Raider in the past few years, while the infamous explorer is getting another promising opportunity at the big screen in the upcoming Tomb Raider 2018 Film adaptation of the well-known franchise.
According to a report from GQ, new photos were released from the set of the coming-real-soon 2018 reboot of the Tomb Raider movie series, which will feature famous actress Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl) and Roar Uthaug (The Wave) will be the man behind the camera.
This upcoming Tomb Raider 2018 Film reboot will greatly be built on the foundation from 2013’s Tomb Raider, with director Uthag confirming that this time around, the upcoming and promising project will be “an entirely different theatrical approach to Lara Croft” than her previous movies with the appearance of Angelina Jolie, which will “provide something brand new in the origin and major development of the character.”
Uthag has also included in an interview with GQ that the movie will “introduce Lara as a young woman who has not yet found her own path and her own place in this world”, while also regarding her as “a young woman with great spirit and potential” as we “keep up with her struggles and her adventure toward becoming the person she was always meant to be and receiving the role of Tomb Raider”. So far, it appears that the movie is intended to capture a ton of the reinvention we have witnessed in 2013’s video game revival, and hopefully that will deliver just as well to the big screen.
The upcoming Tomb Raider 2018 Film is set to be released on March 16th, 2018. Make sure that you thoroughly check out the latest photos of Alicia Vikander playing as Lara Croft both above and below:
