Very few directors in Hollywood do scary, including Darren Aronofsky. The famous director responsible for Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream and many more has a way with music and shots that deliver creeping craze. It’s as if dread and misery are always hidden in every corner. So, it should be no surprising that his most recent work, mother! 2017, just released what might turn out to be the creepiest trailer we’ve seen all year long. Check out the sinister and disturbing two-minute mother! 2017 film trailer below…
Mother! 2017 movie has been quite of a mystery for awhile now. Mother! 2017 full movie has attracted a noticeable amount of buzz given Aronofsky’s participation, as well as starring four gorgeous leads (Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer) who have all been nominated for multiple Academy Awards, but there hasn’t really been loads of news about the film at all.
In fact, Mother! 2017 hits the theater on September 15th, as in real soon, and this is the first solid piece of marketing we’ve been given. That’s surely a difference from the usual way of hitting the world with a trailer almost a year out from release, but perhaps it’s actually better to rise the hype five weeks out.
This is usually the part where I’d depict the main story for you, but I’m honestly not entirely sure if I know exactly what’s happening. It looks like Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem are hanging out in a chilling house with a stain of blood when Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer pop up, separately. And then things start to be strange. Like possible mental breakdown, possible serial killer stuff. That’s it. That’s all I certainly know. People will to end up dead or join a mental hospital or maybe both, and if the soundtrack is as thrilling as it appears, I might crap myself seeing the film.
Yet, due to who is involved, we’ll probably show up on the opening night to see what to make of mother! Darren Aronofsky hasn’t made a single film since 2014’s Noah, the iconic Biblical that was super underrated (you probably rewatched on the Internet after passing it in theaters and realized it wasn’t actually nearly as bad as critics described it to be). And the mother! cast includes people you’d usually say “I’d watch them read the phone book on screen”. Chances are that the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer and Ed Harris will do a great deal of a lot more than just that in this horror.
As mentioned, mother! will hit the theaters before you know it. The September release date has me wondering if this is actually an Oscar player. But now it just seems like a straight up genre film. And yet, it will air at the film festival circuit. We don’t plan on missing it in Toronto, so we’ll report back then.
