Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them was always serving as the doorway to more upcoming journeys in the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling.
But rather than just three movies, the Fantastic Beasts chain of series is in the game for up to five installments of Newt Scamander and his pals battling against the forces of evil. So now is perhaps a fantastic time to gather what we know about the next chapter of this brand new franchise, which we’ll temporarily title Fantastic Beasts 2 for the moment, as the naming convention relied on by the creators of the series. What do we get about Fantastic Beasts 2 so far? Continue on the article and find out.
When Will Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2 Be Released On The Big Screen?
With previous confirmations that movies in the Fantastic Beasts series would be coming every two years, it has been assumed that Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2 is set to make it debut on November 16, 2018. Of course, unexpected holdbacks in production and casting may or may not make this date hard to believe as production comes into view. Knowing Warner Bros. and their right of possession of the series, though, we’d be amazed if something really did happen to change this release date.
What Will Fantastic Beasts 2 Be Rated?
Both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises appear to be in the same PG / PG-13 wheelhouse. Still, the PG-13 is more likely to hang around, as it doesn’t look like that the darkness of the threats to the wizarding world will be fighting off anytime soon. Not to mention, the franchise began with a PG-13, and unless there features a lot less wizarding stuffs and a ton more of magizoology in the next installment, we don’t see the movies ever being downgraded back to PG.
Who Will Direct Fantastic Beasts 2?
After initially hindering at coming back to the world of Harry Potter, David Yates brought himself back into the field with Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. Given by some remarks he’s made as early as last month, this new sequel appears to have fused him a brand new fresh energy, as he’s now seemingly ready to see the franchise through its five-movie plan. Though this isn’t an official affirmation, it’d be extremely weird for Warner Bros. not to sign Yates a contract as soon as possible, if he isn’t already.
Where Will Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2 Take Place?
Originally, some information set Fantastic Beasts 2 up for a new adventure to Paris, as stated by director David Yates. Yet, when further pressed about details including the movie’s setting, Yates indicated that the movie will also mark the franchise’ return to the United Kingdom, presumably to have an intriguing mix up with the characters at Hogwarts (relying on whether its presence has returned in the script or not) or at the very least Albus Dumbledore. Though, don’t be shocked if the movie at the very least teases a journey to Germany at the end, as that’s the home land of freshly in play Gellert Grindelwald.
