Fantastic Beasts 2 – The Harry Potter spin-off is set months after the first movie in London and Paris
Warner Bros. has sparked some hot and spicy new details for the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is titled Fantastic Beasts 2 for the moment.
Just like we thought, the studio has confirmed that Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, and Dan Fogler — who play magical creatures’ keeper Newt Scamander, Auror Tina Goldstein, sister Queenie, and No-Maj Jacob — is returning to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise.
Pirates of the Caribbean main man Johnny Depp will also make a comeback as the twisted Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, with Jude Law appearing for the first time as soon-to-be Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore.
Excitingly, the fate of Ezra Miller’s haunted character Credence will be unraveled as the actor coming back one more time, while Zoë Kravitz’s Leta Lestrange — who was spotted in a photograph in Newt’s suitcase — will also make appearance.
Another intriguing addition to the cast involves War & Peace as the “famed Theseus Scamander”, Newt’s older brother, with Avengers: Age of Ultron’s Claudia Kim participating in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film as a mysterious “young woman we first encounter as a featured attraction at a wizarding circus”.
Fantastic Beasts 2 has also been ensured to set to be happened just months after the first movie, in 1927, with Grindelwald having fled from prison and began to recruit other wizards.
“The only one who might be capable of seizing him is the wizard he once regarded his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore,” the synopses reads. “But Dumbledore will need a hand from the wizard who had defeated Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander.”
The movie will also be following the adventure move from New York, to London, and then onto Paris where there will be “some surprising nods to the Harry Potter stories that will pleasure fans of both the novels and movie franchise.”
Other cast additions find William Nadylam as a wizard called Yusuf Kama, Ingvar Sigurdsson as a bounty hunter called Grimmson, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Skender, who leads the wizarding circus, and Kevin Guthrie as Abernathy, Tina and Queenie’s boss at Magical Congress of the USA (or we can call it MACUSA).
